Rebellion
Rebellion is when someone knows what the rules are but chooses to break them. A rebel might see something in a store and steal it, even though they know not to do it. He or she might break a rule just to break a rule. A person that was a rebel was Rosa Parks. She was a rebel for a good reason; it was fighting for what she believed in when the bus driver tried to make her go to the back of the bus to make room for a white person. Dally in the book The Outsiders, written by S.E. Hinton, demonstrated a rebellion.
For instance, Dally is a rebel when he has a gun. When Ponyboy and Johnny run to Dally after Johnny kills a Soc, Dally supplies them with a gun and some money. Dally says, “I been carrying a heater. It ain’t loaded, but it sure does help a bluff,” (page 153). This shows that he has a lot of nerve and is rebellious to do something like that.
In the same way, Dally is rebellious when he sneaks into a movie even though he has the money for it. He only does it because he likes to break the law. Ponyboy even says, “We all had money to get in- it only costs a quarter if you’re not in a car- but Dally hates to do things the legal way,”(page 20). That is the last reason to show rebellious Dally is.
Finally, Dally is rebellious when he robbs a grocery store. When Ponyboy walks back from the hospital where Johnny had just died, he gets back home and opens the door to his house. When he walks in, the phone rings and Darry picks it up. It’s Dally, and when Darry hangs up he says, “He’s just robbed a grocery store,”(page 153). Then when Ponyboy and everyone else open up the door, they see Darry running to the lot with the police behind him. When they catch him, he pulls out an unloaded gun which make the police stop, but really makes them shoot and kill him. It ends up being just what Dally wants. That also shows how rebellious Dally is.
Dally in the book The Outsiders demonstrates rebellion. If Dally hadn’t shown rebellion, Ponyboy would probably be separated from his family, and Johnny would have gone to jail. Dally also wouldn’t have died if he wasn’t a rebel because he aimed the unloaded gun at the police, making them shoot and kill him. I sometimes have a rebellious quality. I have this quality when I believe in something, and I stick up for what I believe in. I am also rebellious when there’s a bully, and I stand up to them. I’m not rebellious 95% of the time when my parents tell me to do something. If I wasn’t rebellious, I believe that I would be a total pushover. I know when to be rebellious and when not to be.

The Outsiders Questions
Being an “Outsider” means to be different than others. It also means you may think differently. You might also like different things or do different things than others. It also means you may think differently. You might also like different things and do different things than others, or even stay away from others or a group of people.
“Nothing gold can stay” is and isn’t true. Regular gold can stay, memories ,and things precious to you can stay too. Somethings “Gold” can’t stay though either like living things or even like the morning mist reflecting the sunrise can’t stay around or like if you have one of something great or “Gold” and you get more and more of it, it gets less special or over indulgent. As you see “Gold” is what you cherish.
Something I learned from this extraordinary book is that if you don’t love anything you have nothing to live for. Even if you don’t have a lot of money or stuff, you can still be happy. Friends can be more like family than real family.
